Thank you for your interest in helping Habitat North Central build simple, decent affordable homes for deserving families in our community. Our volunteers are a fundamental part of our organization, and their hard work and dedication make our ministry possible. While most people associate Habitat with construction, we are always looking for volunteers to hammer & nail as well as help in a number of other ways such as in our office or on a committee. Below you will find a list of our current volunteer needs.
Current Volunteer Needs
Saturday Construction: Saturday is typically our largest volunteer day. We do not work on Sundays. Our house sponsors generally provide volunteers for Saturdays, but we sometimes need extra hands. If you are interested in volunteering on Saturdays, we will add you to our list of interested volunteers in order to contact you when opportunities arise. No construction experience or knowledge is necessary. All construction volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
Weekday Construction: Meet people and make friends by becoming a member of our weekday crew. We currently need help on Wednesday, Thursday, and/or Friday in Cherokee and North Fulton. No construction experience or knowledge is necessary. All construction volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
Family Selection: We are looking for Family Selection Committee members in Cherokee and Forsyth/Dawson. The Family Selection Committee reviews Habitat applicants and decides which families to recommend for approval to our Board of Directors.
Family Support: We are looking for mentors to assist our family partners with the transition to homeownership in each of our three areas - Cherokee, North Fulton, and Forsyth/Dawson.
